Peace of Mind: The BLS Painting Two-Year Limited Warranty

At BLS Painting, we stand behind our craftsmanship. As a local, family-owned business, our goal is to provide a worry-free experience and results that last. This limited warranty is our commitment to the quality of your home’s finish as Austin’s Premier Painting Contractor.

What is Covered
For a period of two (2) years from the date of completion, BLS Painting will repair peeling, blistering, or chipping paint resulting from defective workmanship. As per our agreement, this warranty includes both labor and materials.
Note: Exterior stain-grade surfaces are covered by a one (1) year limited warranty.

How to Make a Claim
To stay eligible for a warranty claim, please ensure:

  1. You have a copy of your original contract.
  2. The project has been paid for in full.
  3. BLS Painting is given access to the property to inspect and perform the repairs.

Warranty Limitations
This warranty does not cover:

  • Any work where BLS Painting did not supply the paint or materials.
  • Any surface not originally painted/treated by BLS Painting.
  • Varnished surfaces or surfaces made of galvanized metal.
  • Horizontal surfaces where moisture collects (decks, railings, stairs, etc.).
  • Exact color matches (sun and weather will naturally change paint over time).
  • Bleeding caused by knots, rust, or cedar.
  • Damage caused by structural movement, settling, or “nail pops.”
  • Peeling of paint layers that existed prior to our work.
  • Damage from “Acts of God” (floods, extreme weather, fire), vandalism, or neglect.
  • Abuse, abrasive cleaning, or chemical damage.

This warranty is non-transferable and applies only to the original customer named on the paid invoice. It cannot be altered unless done so in writing and signed by both parties.

HomeCare+ Yearly Plan Terms & Conditions

These Terms and Conditions (the “Agreement”) govern the HomeCare+ Yearly Plan (the “Plan”) provided by BLS Painting (“Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) to the client (“Client,” “you,” or “your”). By enrolling in the Plan, you agree to be bound by the following terms.

 

The HomeCare+ Yearly Plan is a premium maintenance program designed to preserve the aesthetic integrity and structural protection of high-end residential properties. The Plan provides scheduled maintenance services to ensure surfaces remain in “like-new” condition throughout the year.

1A. Program Benefit

HomeCare+ is a yearly maintenance plan designed to keep your home in pristine condition with significant savings compared to one-off services.

 

BLS Painting specializes in comprehensive residential services, including but not limited to interior and exterior painting, cabinet finishing, deck and fence staining, drywall patching, garage floor painting, power washing, and stucco repainting. The specific services included in your Plan will be outlined in your individual service summary.

 

  • Standard Maintenance: Services are generally performed on an annual basis to maintain the quality of the finish. 
  • High-Exposure Surfaces: Surfaces exposed to direct sunlight or harsh environmental conditions require maintenance on a bi-yearly (every six months) basis to prevent degradation. 
  • Professional Review: Upon scheduling, the BLS Painting team will review your property and selected services. We reserve the right to recommend adjustments to your Plan level to ensure your home receives the appropriate frequency of care based on its specific architectural needs and environmental exposure.

3A. Service Frequency

Most maintenance is performed annually. However, surfaces with direct sun exposure require semi-annual (twice-yearly) service to maintain their finish.

3B. Plan Confirmation

After you schedule, a BLS Painting project manager will review your home to confirm you are on the correct service plan for your property’s needs.

 

Enrollment in the HomeCare+ Yearly Plan entitles the Client to significant discounted rates compared to our standard individual service pricing. These “Plan Savings” are contingent upon the Client’s commitment to the continuous maintenance schedule.

 

To retain the Plan Savings and remain in good standing:

  • The Client must complete all scheduled maintenance services every calendar year. 
  • Services may not be deferred, skipped, or cancelled without breaching the terms of this Agreement. 
  • Continuous enrollment and completion of services are required to maintain the “HomeCare+” status.

5A. Continuity Requirement

To maintain your HomeCare+ savings and program status, all scheduled services must be completed each year without exception.

 

Failure to complete the scheduled annual or bi-yearly services as outlined in your Plan constitutes a material breach of this Agreement. In the event of a breach:

  • The HomeCare+ contract will be immediately terminated. 
  • All “Plan Savings” will be forfeited. 
  • Any future or outstanding services will be billed at BLS Painting’s Normal Standard Rates
  • To re-enroll in the Plan following a breach, the property may require a “Restoration Service” at standard rates to return the surfaces to a maintainable condition.

6A. Breach of Contract

Skipping a scheduled service or failing to complete the yearly requirement constitutes a breach of these terms. In such cases, the HomeCare+ discount is forfeited, the contract is terminated, and standard labor/material rates will apply to any future work.

 

Clients are responsible for providing access to the property on the scheduled service dates. BLS Painting will provide reasonable notice prior to arriving for scheduled maintenance. Failure to provide access may result in a missed service interval, which shall be treated as a skipped service under Section 6.

 

While the HomeCare+ Plan is designed to keep your home looking its best, BLS Painting is not liable for underlying structural issues, wood rot, or substrate failure not caused by our application. We provide expert craftsmanship and attention to detail, but environmental factors may affect the longevity of finishes between service intervals.

 

This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas. Any disputes arising under this Agreement shall be resolved in the courts of Travis County, Texas.

 

This document, along with the signed Service Order, constitutes the entire agreement between BLS Painting and the Client regarding the HomeCare+ Yearly Plan. Any modifications must be made in writing and signed by both parties.

Rent A Painter Program Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern the Rent A Painter program offered by BLS Painting (“Company”). By booking a service under this program, the client (“Client”) agrees to be bound by these Terms.

The Rent A Painter program is a specialized service designed to provide existing clients with a professional painter for a designated period (daily or half-day increments) to perform minor maintenance, touch-ups, and small-scale painting tasks. This program is intended for maintenance of existing finishes and is not a substitute for full-scale residential project contracts.

Participation in the Rent A Painter program is strictly limited to loyal, repeat customers of BLS Painting and is not available for first-time clients. To qualify, the following criteria must be met:

  • Repeat Customer Status (Program Eligibility): The Client must be a loyal, repeat customer who has previously engaged BLS Painting for work at the property and whose prior project(s) have been completed and paid in full. 
  • Records on File (Record Requirement): To qualify for this service, BLS Painting must have all color, finish, and product information on file from the original work performed at the property. This requirement helps ensure the integrity of color matching and finish consistency. 
  • Verification: BLS Painting reserves the right to verify customer loyalty and record availability before confirming any Rent A Painter bookings.

This program is intended for paint touch-ups and maintenance only on surfaces previously painted by BLS Painting where we have established records. The Rent A Painter service and its special rates do not include full repainting of surfaces, walls, or rooms. Any request for full repainting will be quoted separately at the Company’s standard project rates. The service includes one (1) professional painter and standard equipment (brushes, rollers, drop cloths, and ladders). The scope of work is limited to:

  • Interior or exterior touch-ups. 
  • Painting of single small rooms, trim, or doors. 
  • Minor drywall patching and repairs. 
  • Power washing small areas. 
  • Other small tasks as agreed upon at the time of booking.
  • Paint Matching: While the Company utilizes original records to ensure a close match, the Client acknowledges that environmental factors (such as UV fading of original surfaces) may result in slight color variations. 
  • Procurement: Unless otherwise specified, the cost of paint and specialized materials is not included in the daily rate and will be billed separately or provided by the Client.
  • Daily Rate: A “Full Day” consists of eight (8) consecutive hours of labor, including a standard lunch break. 
  • Half Day: A “Half Day” consists of four (4) consecutive hours. 
  • Staff Breaks: Painter(s) will take a one-hour lunch break and are allowed 3-6 fifteen-minute breaks throughout the day. 
  • Drying Times / Waiting Periods: After caulking or between coats, there may be periods where painters are waiting for materials to dry; work will resume once the surface is ready. 
  • Early Completion / No Credit: If the agreed scope of work is completed before the end of the scheduled day or half-day, no credit, refund, or discount will be issued. The Rent A Painter daily rate is already provided at a significant discount compared to the Company’s standard fees. 
  • Hourly Billing / Rounding: If the Client is billed on an hourly basis (including overtime), all hourly charges will be rounded up to the nearest hour. 
  • Overtime: Any work exceeding the scheduled duration will be billed at the Company’s standard hourly labor rate, subject to painter availability.

The Client is responsible for:

  • Providing clear access to the work areas. 
  • Moving fragile items, electronics, and heavy furniture away from the work zone. 
  • Identifying specific areas requiring attention at the start of the scheduled session.

The Rent A Painter program does not include:

  • Major structural repairs or Repainting Scopes.
  • Total cabinet refinishing projects. 
  • Complete exterior repaints. 
  • High-reach areas requiring specialized scaffolding or lifts not standard to a service van.

Clients must provide at least forty-eight (48) hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule a Rent A Painter session. Failure to provide sufficient notice may result in a cancellation fee equal to 50% of the scheduled service rate.

The Company’s liability for work performed under this program is limited to the total amount paid by the Client for the specific Rent A Painter session. The Company is not responsible for pre-existing underlying substrate issues or damage caused by the movement of items not cleared from the work area by the Client.

PAYMENTS & DEPOSITS

All deposits and payments are considered earned upon receipt and are strictly non-refundable. By making a payment, the client acknowledges that these funds are used to reserve labor and procure materials specifically for this project.
